Congressman Bean Back from Trip to Israel, as War Intensifies

April 18, 2024

WASHINGTON—Marking six months since the October 7th attacks, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) recently returned from a Congressional Delegation (CODEL) to Israel. The delegation met with President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and senior national security leaders to hear the official perspective of the State of Israel and discuss issues impacting the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Congressman Bean and fellow members of the delegation witnessed firsthand the Nova Music Festival site and Kibbutz Nir Oz, where Hamas brutally murdered hundreds of Israelis and took hostages.

“While President Biden’s weak-kneed appeasement continues to embolden Iran-backed Hamas, I traveled to Israel to meet with senior officials, leaders, and soldiers who are fearlessly fighting each day for survival. We cannot abandon Israel in her darkest hour. We must guarantee that our ally has the weapons to defend herself, bring the hostages home, defeat bloodthirsty Hamas, and face down the Iran regime and its terror proxies,” said Congressman Bean.

BACKGROUND

This marks Congressman Bean’s first diplomatic trip to Israel.

The CODEL of newly elected House Republicans sought to better understand the unique geopolitical and national security challenges in the region, as well as to reaffirm America’s support as the Israel-Hamas war shows no signs of winding down.
