***MEDIA ADVISORY*** WEDNESDAY: Chair Bean to Hold Subcommittee Hearing on K-12 Curricula
WASHINGTON— On Wednesday, December 4, at 10:15 a.m., the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education chaired by U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04), will hold a hearing titled “Back to Basics: America’s Founding, Civics, and Self-Government in K-12 Curricula.”
“School districts across the country have lost their way. Instead of focusing on the basics of American history teachers and administrators have taken it upon themselves to indoctrinate the youngest students with terms like ‘slavocracy,’ radical ideology about sexuality, and discriminatory lessons about Israelis as ‘colonial settlers,’” said Chairman Bean. “We need to get back to the basics. That means accurately teaching American history and civics and promoting a free exchange of ideas.”
