ICYMI: Congressman Bean Hosts Health Summit in D.C. on Healthcare Affordability
WASHINGTON—On Thursday, December 4, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) hosted the first installment of his Path to Consensus Series focused on healthcare affordability. The kickoff event featured two expert panels and a keynote from House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19), spotlighting ideas to lower costs, improve care, and put patients, not bureaucrats, at the center of the system.
The panelists engaged in constructive discussions on the reforms to the American healthcare system, including potential changes to the Affordable Care Act, stronger safeguards to reduce fraud, and strategies to bring healthcare costs under control.
These conversations demonstrated that with open and honest dialogue, meaningful healthcare reform is within reach.
About the event, Congressman Bean said: “Healthcare costs are exploding, and endless spending won’t solve it. We must confront the root causes. Real solutions depend on open, honest dialogue about lowering costs while expanding choice and competition. That’s the purpose of this series — to bring people together, find common ground, and move toward meaningful reform.”
BACKGROUND
The Path to Consensus Series will continue in 2026 with additional sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of America’s healthcare system. Congressman Bean underscored that the series is designed to be an ongoing dialogue, not a one-time event.
