ICYMI: Bean, Foxx Lead Education Roundtable in Support of Parents and Students
WASHINGTON—On Friday, March 17, in solidarity with parents and teachers, Early Childhood, Elementary, and Education Subcommittee Chairman Aaron Bean (FL-04) hosted a Parents Roundtable with House Education and Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (NC-05) focused on the dangerous impact of disempowering parents.
Members had productive discussions on the changes our schools need, such as curriculum that educates not indoctrinates, ensuring a baseline of parents’ rights, and how to foster academic achievement so every child can reach their fullest potential.
House Republicans recently introduced H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights, critical legislation to empower parents and prioritize the needs of students over entrenched special interest groups. This bill is set to receive a vote by the House of Representatives later this week.
These conversations prove that by unleashing bold, conservative education reform a brighter future for our children is within reach.
Subcommittee Chairman Bean: “I was joined by parents, teachers, and education officials all united by our belief that our education system is in crisis. Woke liberalism has infiltrated our schools, schools are struggling to retain good teachers, and colleges and universities are saddled with government regulation It’s time to reclaim the moral high ground in America and unleash bold, transformative education reforms that will empower parents, protect kids, and prepare the workforce of the future.”
Chairwoman Foxx: “I am proud to have participated in these important roundtable discussions, which provided Congressman Bean and me with opportunities to hear from parents and educators about improving American education. I am always eager to explore new pathways to expand skills-based education opportunities, education freedom, and parental involvement in schools. As the education landscape in this country continues to evolve, I am dedicated to promoting freedom and access to the best possible education opportunities for every American family.”
