Congressman Bean Leads Republicans in Introducing the “Cutting Unobligated Tumultuous Spending Act”

WASHINGTON—Today, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) introduced the “Cutting Unobligated Tumultuous Spending Act” (CUTS Act), which slashes wasteful federal funding and radical Green New Deal initiatives by $95 billion to offset the foreign aid package signed into law earlier this year.  

As inflation hits 38 straight months above 3%, the reality is that the American people cannot afford to pay the cost of Washington’s spending addiction. Our national debt has surpassed a staggering $34 trillion, and we must take action to avoid walking headlong towards a cliff of fiscal ruin.

“Americans are tired of the federal government using their paychecks as an ATM. Families across the nation pay their debts and live within their means, and the federal government should do the same,” said Congressman Bean. “While protecting our interests abroad is necessary for national security, we must turn our attention to tackling one of the greatest threats to America: our debt. The CUTS Act puts Americans first and changes the status quo by slashing wasteful Green New Deal initiatives and clawing back unspent Covid funds.
