Congressman Bean Holds Communist China Accountable
WASHINGTON— Under the Biden-Harris Administration, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has met little resistance when acting against our interests. This week, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) supported a series of hard-hitting bills to counter the Chinese regime and safeguard our American values and national security.
“The Biden-Harris administration is not serious about addressing the rising threat posed by Communist China. By refusing to stand-up against the CCP, the Biden-Harris administration has made it clear they have no intention of ending their policy of appeasement,” said Congressman Bean. “Our wakeup call came in the form of a Chinese spy balloon, and that’s why I voted in strong support of real protections against the threats that the Chinese Communist Party poses to our military, economy, and our values.
Key Highlights of the Bills:
H.R. 1398, the Protecting America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act: Reestablishes the Trump-era initiative within the National Security Division of the Department of Justice to address espionage by the CCP on U.S. intellectual property and academic institutions.
H.R. 9456, the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act: Strengthens protection of U.S. agricultural land and biotechnology from foreign investments from adversarial nations like China, ensuring our food security remains in American hands.
H.R. 1516, DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act: Combats Chinese Government influence and espionage by prohibiting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from providing funding to any U.S. institution of higher education that has a relationship with a Confucius Institute funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) or a “Chinese entity of concern.”
H.R. 7980, the End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act of 2024: Prevents China from receiving a windfall funded by American taxpayers by closing Biden-Harris Administration tax loopholes that benefit foreign adversaries.
