Bean Votes to Keep Government Open without Wasteful Spending

March 12, 2025

WASHINGTON—Last night, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) voted in support of H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025. This six-month continuing resolution (CR) is a critical step towards keeping the government open and working for the American people while House Republicans fight to reduce wasteful government spending and lower debt.

Upon passage, Congressman Bean said: “We have a responsibility to fund the government, and House Republicans worked with President Trump to do just that.

This straightforward bill keeps our government fully operational, and it maintains critical services with no cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, or veterans’ benefits. Rather, it includes increased defense and border security funding to keep Americans safe. In addition, this bill ensures air traffic controllers, border patrol agents, and our great war fighters get paid.

We are spending less money than last year, and with the support of President Trump, we are cutting spending by $13 billion. Our message is clear: we are united in moving the America first agenda forward.”
