Bean Sounds the Alarm: SNAP Funding Set to Expire in One Day

October 31, 2025

WASHINGTON—With just one day left before funding runs out for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) is calling on Senate Democrats to act immediately to prevent a hunger crisis. If the Schumer Shutdown continues, more than 42 million Americans, including thousands of families in Northeast Florida, will lose access to the food benefits they rely on starting November 1.

“This is unnecessary pain, and it’s entirely avoidable. SNAP beneficiaries aren’t political pawns—they’re parents, children, and seniors who deserve better than Washington’s dysfunction. The House has already done its job to keep the government open and SNAP programs operating. Now, it’s time for the Senate to step up. The clock is ticking, and the consequences of Senate Democrats’ inaction will be felt at kitchen tables across the country.”

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Congressman Bean continues to visit communities across Northeast Florida, hearing directly from families and local organizations impacted by the ongoing government shutdown. He remains actively engaged—listening, serving, and working to ensure constituents have the support they need during this critical time.
