Bean, Ogles Lead Colleagues in Introducing Additional Disaster Relief
WASHINGTON—Today, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) and U.S. Congressman Andy Ogles (TN-05) introduced the “Americans First Disaster Relief Act.” This legislation would provide an additional $10 billion to FEMA for disaster relief. The bill would move $10 billion set aside to hire thousands of additional IRS agents and instead use the money to provide critical disaster assistance.
Upon introduction, Congressman Bean said, “Floridians will not soon forget this hurricane season as the devastation across the southeast is simply unimaginable. I’m pleased to provide additional resources for the Disaster Relief Fund to help those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. I am focused on ensuring federal assistance helps families, small business owners, and communities receive support in the aftermath of these storms, and ensure the funds are utilized where they are needed most—actual disaster relief.”
Cosponsors include Representatives Neil Dunn (FL-02) and Vern Buchanan (FL-16).
