Bean: It’s Time to Rethink the Foundation of American Healthcare

January 8, 2026

WASHINGTON—U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) released the following statement after voting against H.Res.780, a Democrat-sponsored resolution to revive the failed Obamacare COVID-19 enhanced subsidies that expired last year.

Ahead of the vote, Congressman Bean spoke on the House floor against the resolution.

Congressman Bean said, “Americans are facing sticker shock nationwide—whether they’re on Obamacare or not—because the government continues to pour millions into a system that is fundamentally broken. Until we rebuild the foundation of America’s healthcare system, costs will keep climbing, and families will keep feeling the strain. That’s why I’m focused on market-driven reforms that lower costs, increase transparency, and give families real control over their healthcare.”

The measure passed 230-196 and now heads to the Senate.
